Laser Treatments

BBL HERO

BBL HERO is a type of Sciton laser that uses broadband light technology to treat a variety of skin concerns such as age spots, sun damage, acne, and fine lines and wrinkles. It is known for its high speed and advanced cooling features that make it more comfortable for patients and reduce the risk of skin damage.

BBL HERO stands for High Energy Rapid Output and is a more advanced version of Sciton’s BroadBand Light (BBL) technology. It delivers higher energy in shorter pulses, allowing for faster treatment times and more efficient results. The advanced cooling feature also makes the treatment more comfortable for patients and reduces the risk of skin damage.

BBL HERO can be used on all skin types and colors, and can be customized to treat specific skin concerns. It works by delivering a precise wavelength of light to the skin, which is absorbed by the targeted tissue. The light energy is then converted into heat energy, which stimulates collagen production and helps improve skin texture, tone, and appearance.

One of the benefits of BBL HERO is that it is a non-invasive treatment that requires no downtime or recovery period. Patients may experience mild redness or swelling immediately after the procedure, but this typically subsides within a few hours to a few days.

However, as with any laser treatment, there are potential risks and side effects. These may include skin irritation, blistering, and changes in skin pigmentation. It’s important to discuss any potential risks or concerns with a qualified healthcare provider or dermatologist before undergoing BBL HERO treatment.

Overall, BBL HERO is a safe and effective treatment option for improving the appearance of the skin. It is important to consult with a qualified healthcare provider to determine if BBL HERO treatment is appropriate for your specific skin concerns and goals.

Erbium

Sciton Erbium TRL (Tuneable Resurfacing Laser) is an advanced laser technology used for skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. The TRL laser uses a precise beam of energy to remove the outer layer of skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the deeper layers of the skin.

The Sciton Erbium TRL can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, and uneven skin tone and texture. The laser can be customized to treat specific areas of the skin, making it a highly targeted treatment option.

One of the benefits of Sciton Erbium TRL is that it can achieve significant results with minimal downtime compared to other laser treatments. Patients may experience redness and swelling immediately after the procedure, but this typically subsides within a few days to a week.

Another benefit of Sciton Erbium TRL is that it is safe and effective for all skin types and colours. The laser can be adjusted to accommodate different skin types and concerns, allowing for a more personalized treatment approach.

However, as with any laser treatment, there are potential risks and side effects. These may include skin irritation, blistering, scarring, and changes in skin pigmentation. It’s important to discuss any potential risks or concerns with your dermatologist before undergoing Sciton Erbium TRL treatment.

Profractional

Sciton Erbium ProFractional is a type of laser skin resurfacing treatment that uses fractional laser technology to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and other skin concerns. The treatment is based on the principle of fractional photothermolysis, which creates microscopic channels in the skin to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.

During the Sciton Erbium ProFractional treatment, a laser beam is used to create thousands of tiny holes in the skin, leaving the surrounding tissue intact. This allows for a faster healing process and less downtime compared to traditional laser skin resurfacing. The laser energy also heats up the underlying tissue, stimulating collagen production and improving skin texture and tone.

One of the benefits of Sciton Erbium ProFractional is that it can be customized to treat specific skin concerns and can be adjusted based on the depth of treatment needed. This allows for a more targeted and personalized treatment approach.

Patients may experience redness, swelling, and mild discomfort immediately after the procedure, but this typically subsides within a few days to a week. Full results may take several weeks to several months to appear as collagen production continues to improve the skin’s appearance. Sciton’s fractionated erbium laser is the ideal treatment for scar revision, deep resurfacing, and healthy skin maintenance.

ProFractional treats a portion of the skin at a time, resulting in new collagen production and a dramatic reduction in texture, fine lines, deep wrinkles, the appearance of scars, and pigmented lesions like sunspots, freckles, and actinic keratosis.

The treatment’s tuneable technology offers superficial to deep resurfacing for all skin types.

Unlike full field resurfacing which removes the entire surface area of a treatment site, ProFractional ablates narrow-diameter channels into the skin, covering a fraction of the total treatment area. This action initiates the body’s wound healing response while leaving the surrounding tissue intact for rapid healing.

Halo

Simultaneously delivering a non-ablative 1470 nm and an ablative 2490 nm wavelength to the same microscopic treatment zone, HALO delivers an unmatched improvement in the appearance of aging skin. It’s powerful, easy-to-use technology delivers consistent and precise results. Ablative wavelengths target and treat the skin for surface-level conditions such as textural issues and pore size.

The non-ablative wavelength targets deeper sun damage and other dermal pigmentary issues. Together, these wavelengths provide both short-term and long-term benefits to a wide variety of patients. By creating small thermal injuries in the skin, new, healthy skin is produced in a short amount of time.

Downtime is minimal making it a preferred treatment for those wanting to be able to return to work shortly after the treatment.

How many treatments will the patient need?

Due to its fractionated nature, most patients require one to two HALO treatments to achieve their goals (depending on intensity). Then, practitioners can help maintain the results with a HALO or maintenance treatment once or twice per year as needed.
